David Beckham
I had the pleasure of shooting David Beckham for Samsung via the awesome folks at Cheil USA. Beckham plays the ‘Ode to Joy’ on a wall of drums. Forbes, Creativity, and a bunch of other pubs are giving it some love.
2 Gold Pencils
I was in NYC for the One Show Interactive and had the pleasure of winning 2 Gold Pencils for Take This Lollipop. Great amazing. It’s really amazing that a personal project was able to get two of the much coveted Gold Pencils!
Emmy Nomination
This morning I found that I was nominated for an Daytime Emmy Award for ‘Take This Lollipop. A bit shocked, confused, surprised and amazed. The Ellen Show, Today Show and The Bold and the Beautiful are elephants and we are a tic-tac. At least I get to finally wear a tux.
Awards Season
It’s been an a crazy interesting, fun, bizarre, exciting awards season. So far ‘Take This Lollipop’ has been doing very well at the shows. We took ‘Best of Show’ at SXSW, which was pretty insane. Excited to see how it does the next few weeks. Thanks to everyone who voted for it! Here is what I know so far :

Communication Arts
Just saw a great profile on Tool of North America in Communication Arts. A bunch of the digital projects I have done over the last few years are in the magazine. It’s a beautiful spread of work.
Check it out.

Another Year
As this year comes to a close, I am making a resolution to update this section more often. It’s been a fun year, a stranger year, a busy year and everything in between. ‘Take This Lollipop’ takes the cake as the most surreal experience I’ve had this year. Mashable called it the “Fastest Growing Facebook App, ever”. A month later Lollipop was named #7 out of...

5 million?
I have to say that the response to Take This Lollipop has been one of the craziness I have ever seen. For something that really makes it difficult to see or share, people seem to have found amazing ways to helping pass it along. With a day and a half before Halloween, we are currently at 4.5 million likes. As Keanu Reeves would say…. “Whoa”. More press :

1 Million Facebook Likes
I’ve been a part of some of the most successful viral campaigns in history, but this one is just crazy. Today we reached over 1 million likes on Facebook. If things keep on the path, 2 million people will like this by Halloween. Blown away by the success of people wanting to be scared during Halloween. Here are some of the press it’s received over the last week. Thanks for watching...
Insane in the membrane.
I have been neglecting you news blog. Apologies. A lot going on right now. Launched the new Facebook Connect Experience ‘Take This Lollipop’ yesterday and it instantly went viral. I will update more on this tomorrow, but for now, thank you for watching.

May Already?
Slightly frightened it’s May already. 2011 is going to be a quick one. I have been less than great about keeping these updates regular. Been busy this year shooting with W+K (Dodge), DraftFCB (Taco Bell, Smokey Bear) a slew of music videos (Too Short, Wallpaper) and experimenting with a some new crazy new technology. Hacking my Kinect is my latest obsession. Stay tuned.

Webby Nomations
This year three projects I worked on were nominated for Webby Awards. University of Farmers, The Last Advertising Agency on Earth and Touching Stories all need your vote. Tool set up a quick link to all of them. Go get em.
Yahoo!
Last year I had the opportunity to direct an interactive project for Yahoo!/World Cup. I brought in Shane Hurlbut (Terminator Salvation, Drumline, Semi-Pro) as the Director of Photography and we shot on 9 Canon DSRLs. Shane did a great write up talking about what went into to shooting the campaign. Check it out.

adidas "All In"
I just directed an interactive YouTube experience with the folks at Sid Lee in Montreal for adidas. Part of a huge global launch, with footage shot by Romain Gavras, the YouTube experience contains hours of original programming and hours of original music that you can remix into anything you want. Very cool.
Communication Arts - @davidondemand
David on Demand was one of 35 projects that made it into the Interactive Design Annual. Being included is a huge honor and I have a huge amount of respect for that Annual. Go Leo.

Mood Swing Mix Tape
A few weeks ago I started compiling songs for a Valentine’s Day mix tape. One rule, every song had to have the word ‘Love’ in the title. I went through hundreds and hundreds of tracks, finally narrowing it down to 91. Out of those, 25 made it in this mix. Love is fun, fucked up, beautiful, hurtful, happy, crazy, scary, sad, bizarre and everything in between. It’s all of...

Congrats to the awesome people at RPA for winning the FWA for January 18, 2011. My 2nd FWA for work I have directed through Tool and my 26th overall. Sweetness.
Brand New Year
2010 was great year for me and I am very thankful and grateful for everyone who made it possible. In the first few hours of 2011, I am even more excited about everything that is to come. I start the year off with a slew of new projects, a great amount of work that I have just wrapped and a belly of good food and wine from the holidays. Here’s to an awesome 2011.
